Are you a fan of wordplay? I mostly hate puns because they are usually awful! But, sometimes…they can crack me up for hours! When I traveled to Portugal last summer, my friend and I found a bunch of epic Portugal puns and we laughed so much using them every day. Let’s dive into this Portugal puns guide, hopefully with a delicious Pastel de Nata in your hand!
Sao Lourenço beach in Ribamar, Portugal
Portugal is one of the most beautiful and picturesque countries in the world. With clear blue seas, cute villages and lovely wine regions, and beautiful islands like Madeira and the Azores, the country is a favorite for many travelers and digital nomads.
As conscious travelers though, we should be aware that some parts of Portugal are suffering from overtourism. Especially Lisbon is having a hard time being swamped with tourists and digital nomads.
That’s why it is important, when traveling to Portugal, to choose your location carefully. If you want to visit hotspots like Lisbon or the Algarve, please go in the shoulder season. And if you can’t travel off-season, choose a lesser-known destination like Sistelo, Ferragudo, or Piodao.
There are hundreds of beautiful places in Portugal, so don’t go for the obvious but try to dig a little deeper into what the country has to offer. You’ll be surprised by what you’ll find!
That said, this is supposed to be a funny post. So here are the best Portugal puns to enjoy during your trip!
