Planning a trip can cause some people serious headaches. But, not me! I LOVE travel planning and have tried and tested many booking platforms, apps and travel companies in the past years.

Below you can find my favorite picks. From accommodation to travel insurance and transport , you can find it all on this page!

flights

Skyscanner is my favorite flight search engine so far. It always seems to find the best deals and also searches for smaller flight companies.

I’ve recently been experimenting with Wayaway, a relatively new flight search engine that gives cashback not just on WayAway but also on Booking and Viator!

Accommodation

Booking is so easy to use that I keep returning to it to find great homestays, guesthouses, and small B&Bs. I love the easy-to-use interface and transparent pricing.

Agoda comes in second when I’m looking for accommodation. You can browse through a large number of accommodations on Agoda. One thing that bothers me is that the pricing isn’t transparent from the start.

I use Hostelworld when I’m looking for cheap places to stay in European cities. I’m not a fan of dorms (too old for them). But you can find great deals here for private bedrooms in hostels with a great vibe.

Homestay is a booking platform at which you can book a room in the house of a local. It’s an excellent way to immerse yourself in the local culture and prices are much cheaper than rooms on Airbnb.

If you are looking for sustainable accommodation then Ecobnb is a great way to start your journey.

There aren’t that many plant-based hotels in the world but if they exist you will surely find them on Veggiehotels!

Transport

12GO is the best website to find buses, trains, and private transfers no matter where you are in the world!

Bookaway offers the same service as 12GO. I always checked out both before before making an informed decision.

Omio is the aggregator I love to use when I want to travel by bus or train in Europe. 12GO is not always accurate for train travel in Europe but Omio is.

If you are keen on traveling by train through Europe, look no further than Rail Europe to plan your adventure. Here you can also buy Interrail passes, a great and lucrative way to discover multiple cities during one trip!

Blablacar is a community-based travel network for ridesharing. You simply book a ride, pay a share of the gas and that’s it! Recently, they have also added Blablacar buses to their offers.

I’m not a big fan of motorbikes but Bikes Booking is a great way to find a bicycle when you travel abroad. They offer bike rentals in 70 countries across the globe.

Discover Cars is one of the best platforms in the travel industry to rent a car abroad. I always compare the prices of cars on Skyscanner with the price on Discover Cars.

Direct Ferries is the go-to website for booking short as well as long-distance ferries. They cover every ferry destination across Europe and North Africa as well as many other destinations!

Me and my boyfriend have our own minivan but if you don’t have one, I can highly recommend renting one because it’s such a liberating way of travel. Paul Camper is a good choice for Europe travel while RVshare is the go-to for traveling in America!

Travel insurance

The best tailor-made travel insurance for single trips worldwide! Get 5% off using my Heymondo Link

For Belgian travelers, I can highly recommend the Globo insurance from Testaankoop. You won’t find a more competitive price at any other Belgian insurance company!

SafetyWing is the best insurance company for digital nomads and long-term travelers! They offer monthly plans at very attractive rates.

Tours

A great marketplace to find tours with local tour companies all over the world. You can find anything there from sightseeing tours to cooking classes and even multiday treks.

With Locals is the go-to place if you want to get to know a city from a local’s point of view. The tours are private and take you to places of the tourist trail!

Viator is another great marketplace to find tours all over the world. It’s very similar to get Your Guide and you can find group tours as well as more private experiences.

Vegan travel

Happy Cow is my go-to site whenever I’m traveling to find the best places to eat out as a vegan. You probably know this site if you have been vegan for a while but in case you don’t, check it out immediately! It’s the number one resource for vegan travelers.

With Eat With you can buy yourself a meal at a local’s home when you’re traveling. It’s a great way to meet local people and learn about the country you’re traveling in. Food can most of the time be adjusted to vegans!

I hate polluting cruise ships but these ships of Vegan Cruises are as sustainable as they can be! They are a great way to discover Europe and the chefs offer exquisite vegan cuisine!

Retreats

Book yoga retreats all over the world with Book Yoga Retreats. Wether you’re looking for an off beat ashram in India or a luxurious retreat in Hawai, you can find it here.

Rather looking for a detox vacation instead of focusing on yoga? Here you can find anything from Ayurveda to stress relief and juice cleanses.
