Portugal

Lisbon to Ericeira: Lisbon, Portugal

Lissabon, Portugal

Portugal is located in southwestern Europe and is a lovely destination that offers something for everyone. With its stunning landscapes, rich history, warm hospitality, and vibrant culture, Portugal is an excellent choice for the adventurous globetrotter.

One of Portugal’s main appeals is its diverse natural beauty. From the breathtaking cliffs around Ericeira to the rolling vineyards of the Douro Valley, and the rugged mountains of the Peneda-Gerês National Park to the pristine beaches of the Azores and Madeira islands, the country is a haven for nature enthusiasts.

Moreover, Portugal boasts a fascinating history and a blend of architectural styles which can still be seen in its magnificent castles, palaces, and UNESCO World Heritage sites. Cities like Lisbon, Porto, and Sintra showcase a unique fusion of medieval, Renaissance, and contemporary architecture.

The Portuguese people are renowned for their warm and friendly nature, making visitors feel welcome and at home. The country’s rich cultural heritage also shines through in its mouthwatering cuisine, including iconic dishes like pastéis de nata (custard tarts).

Unfortunately, most Portuguese dishes are not vegan and it can sometimes be hard to come across a restaurant that caters to your needs when traveling outside of the touristy places of Portugal.

But, fear not! If you’re looking for a slow travel vacation including accommodation that offers vegan food, I got you. I sourced the internet in search of the best vegan hotels, guesthouses and retreats in Portugal and came up with this list.

Here we go!
