Looking for the best vintage shops and thrift stores in Rotterdam? You have come to the right place! I’ve scoured the streets of Rotterdam looking for the best shops in the city. Rotterdam is a thrifters paradise. There are so many second-hand shops in the city that it’s impossible to visit them all on a weekend city trip. That’s why I have put together this vintage Rotterdam shopping guide to help you find the best second-hand fashion in the city!
Rotterdam is the second-largest city in the Netherlands and is known for being the largest port in Europe, having a skyline with outstanding architecture, and a progressive mentality.
Rotterdam is absolutely worth visiting and you will not be bored traveling to this corner of the Netherlands. The city’s thriving cultural scene, multi-ethnic diversity, and avant-garde mentality will surely blow you away.
Aside from the excellent museums, cool music venues, and amazing architecture, Rotterdam also has a cool vintage fashion scene.
Rotterdam is easy to get around on foot and if you think walking around is taking up too much of your time, renting a bike in Rotterdam is an excellent alternative.
Public transport is rather expensive. A single ticket costs € 4 and a 1-day tourist ticket will set you back € 14,50.
Rotterdam second hand shops are abound in the city
There are so many thrift stores and vintage shops in Rotterdam that making a plan to visit most of them while you’re in Rotterdam is not a bad idea. Rotterdam is not that big but the main reason why a plan comes in handy is the opening hours of all the shops which are quite irregular. Be sure to check them out before you plan your trip!
A lot of the shops are situated in the Zwaanhals, a multicultural, up-and-coming street in the North of Rotterdam. Visiting the Zwaanhals should definitely be on your list and is the place to go if you don’t have much time on your hands. Six of the vintage shops on this list are located at the Zwaanhals.
The others vintage shops are scattered all over the city. The best thing to do when visiting Rotterdam is to explore a certain area every day and check beforehand which vintage shops are in that area and if they are open.
As said before, many vintage shops have very limited opening hours and some of them even open up only three days a week!
Without further ado, here is my vintage shops Rotterdam guide!
Cheap fashion is located at the Meent and is by far the coolest vintage store in Rotterdam. Come here to find some second-hand sneakers, old Levi’s jeans, and cool jackets and hats. They also sells a nice array of vintage hand bags.
