Traveling to Georgia in the near future? chances are that you will want to take a trip into the Caucasus Mountains! The best place in Georgia from which to explore this extraordinary region is Kazbegi. It is recommended to stay at least a few days in Kazbegi but, if you are short on time, there are various tours that you can book online starting from Tbilisi. In this post, I’ll let you in on the best tours to Kazbegi that you can book online!

Georgia

Juta Georgia

Juta, Georgia

Georgia is a wonderful country at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It boasts a rich combination of history, culture, and natural beauty and is a place where ancient traditions coexist with modernity. Tbilisi, the capital, is a charming blend of cobbled streets, colorful houses, and vibrant markets while you can find traditional villages scattered all over the country.

Furthermore, Georgia is a haven for nature enthusiasts, with the majestic Caucasus Mountains dominating its northern landscape. These rugged peaks, often snow-capped, offer a playground for hikers, skiers, and adventure seekers. The Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta and the cave city of Uplistsikhe are archaeological wonders, while the wine culture, with a history dating back 8,000 years, continues to flourish in Kakheti.

Kazbegi

Kazbegi, Georgia

Kazbegi, Georgia

Kazbegi is located in the heart of the Caucasus Mountains in Georgia and is a place of extraordinary natural beauty and cultural significance. This remote region is dominated by the iconic Mount Kazbek, a dormant stratovolcano shrouded in myth and legend. At 5,047 meters (16,558 feet), it’s not only a challenging ascent for mountaineers but also a sight to behold for nature lovers.

Kazbegi is also home to the picturesque Gergeti Trinity Church, perched dramatically on a hill overlooking the town of Stepantsminda. This 14th-century stone church is not only an architectural marvel but also a symbol of Georgia’s enduring religious heritage.

Kazbegi offers outdoor enthusiasts a haven for hiking, trekking, and exploring. The Truso Valley, with its rugged terrain and ancient ruins, is a favorite destination for adventure seekers while the views in Juta are otherworldly.

This tour was amazing and Matsu was a great guide. We started from Tbilisi and we made a few stops on our way to Kazbegi. We visited the dam, two monasteries, and some monuments. Matsu was informative and gave me a good idea about each place. He talked about the history and the importance of the places. We stayed in a nice hotel in Kazbegi and I got my own room ( breakfast and dinner included ) Next morning we started hiking. The hiking place was unbelievably green, with fresh air, ice, birds, rivers, and a lot of lovely things. We took about 3 hours in hiking . We had all we need in the car ( Matsu brought drinks fresh fruits and snacks ) Take my words: If you want to see the real beauty of Georgia take this tour. and If you want a well-organized tour to enjoy every moment, GO WITH MATSU he is not just a professional tour guide but he is a friend who looks after you all the time.

We had an amazing three-day Kazbegi adventure with Trek Georgia. The entire process was very good: our tour manager Dito took care of us from initial inquiries to managing our custom requests and then guiding us through some beautiful regions. He listened well and was responsive to our needs in the moment and to changing weather conditions; we didn’t miss a beat along the way. The team is clearly very experienced and can work with groups of any skill level. (We’re intermediate and fit.) I would happily travel with Trek Georgia again.
