4 best places for camping near Los Canos de Meca

Here is a list of the four camp sites in and around Los Canos de Meca beach. While two of them are located in Los Canos de Meca itself, the two other ones are located closer to the coastal area of Zahora.

Zahora is great if you like to have more tourists around, and as a result, also more tourist facilities like restaurants, while Los Canos de Meca itself provides a more serene experience.

Here are the four campgrounds to choose from near Los Canos de Meca beach!

Camping Pinar San José

Camping Pinar San Jose is located in the center of Zahora, approximately 1 kilometer from the nearest beach.

It offers various types of bungalows which come with well-equipped kitchens and bathrooms and smaller fixed mobile homes that also come with all the amenities you need.

Aside from these accommodation options, Pinar San Jose also offers plots for people who are arriving with their own camper van or tent. Prices are very reasonable, even in high season, but real deals can be made her in low season when prices can drop to 50%.

At the campground, you can find various amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is a supermarket on site and a great restaurant next to a pool, tennis courts and a children’s park. The sanitary blocks are also very clean with a separate block for men and women.

If you are looking for a glamping experience, look no further than the camp site of Kampaoh in the center of Los Canos de Meca.

Located on the former campground of the legendary Camping Camaleón, Kampaoh Los Caños is situated in the lush heart of the La Breña Natural Park.

It is also located just a leisurely five-minute stroll away from the famed Playa del Pirata, known for being the home of the legendary beach hangout Jaima Meccarola.

There is no possibility to stay at Kampaoh with your own tent or camper van. The only accommodation options available are glamping tents which come in different sizes ranging from two to six persons.

The tents come with towels and mirror, a mosquito net, socket indoor and outdoor lighting, a table and chairs, tableware, an ice cooler box, a fan, and a padlock for the zip of the tent. Some tents also include a small fridge.

Kampaoh Trafalgar is another campsite from the Kampaoh chain located in Los Canos de Meca but closer to Faro de Trafalgar and Zahora. It is a part of the larger campground of Camping Faro de Trafalgar.

At this campsite, you can find the same glamping tents to choose from as at the campsite of Canos de Meca. Additionally, you can also find regular bungalows here and there are plots for travelers coming with their own tent or camper van.

This campsite is located only 50 meters from the beach of Los Canos de Meca and the lighthouse. Near the beach, you can find the wonderful Chiringuito “Ohana” which offers great food and also caters to vegan travelers. On the menu, you can find a vegan burger, wok, and appetisers like vegetable tempura.

Restaurante La Posada de Trafalgar is a restaurant a bit closer to the campsite that also has a great menu for vegans.

Camping Canos de Meca is a fourth camp site in the area that, in comparison to the Kampaoh camp sites, still provides an authentic charm.

Camping Canos de Meca is located very close to Pinar San Jose in the coastal spot, Zahora, or bit more north of Canos de Meca Beach.

It offers a wide array of bungalows that cater to any taste and budget, from wooden glamping huts to fully-equiped bungalows that are suitable for up to six people.

The glamping huts are basic but beautiful huts with a double bed and a fridge while the bungalows also come with a private kitchen and bathroom.

Plots are available for tents and camping cars and are situated in a pine forest, providing enough shade to spend your days comfortably. The plots are also separated by hedges to offer a bit more privacy.

The campsite also offers a pool, restaurants, an onsite supermarket, and barbecue areas. There is a playground for children and bike rental is available upon request.
